I will be eagerly looking forward to the results. We have four or five descendants of James and Penelope Barber of Clarke County, Georgia that have matched on DNA tests, and one of them has matched a descendant of Moses Barber, who died after 1800 in Chatham County, NC. He was about 5 years older than James, so I assume he is a brother.
There are three or four descendants of George and Elizabeth Barber of Craig's Creek, Augusta County, Georgia that have tested, and they match each other. One of their sons, George, married Margaret Watkins and settled in Wilkes-Oglethorpe Counties, Georgia.
There is also a descendant of John Barber of Anson county, NC that has tested.
I mention these three distinct Barber families because DNA evidence proves that these families were not related to each other.
I really hope your ASA connects with one of these families.
I had no idea there were so many different Barber families.
