There were lots of Barbers in the early colonies. I feel fairly confident no definitive evidence of Samuel's ancestry could have been lying around for the last 250 years without being found. The only way to extend the genealogy of this line beyond Samuel (with any confidence) is to find someone that will do a dna test.
