I agree about the 12 marker test, especially with a common haplotype like ours. I already have another dozen or so 12/12 matches. However, when the surnames are the same, it's not a common surname, and the families lived in the same area, it is far more conclusive. In any case, Johnny is going to extend his markers beyond 12 to clear this up.

I, too, am interested in that Samuel Barber who m Ann Schooley. Another cousin, Bill Barber of Laurel MD, has a Bible transcription showing this couple and their children with birth and marriage dates. He got the transcription 14 years ago, so I'm trying to track it down for more info. If anyone knows more about this Bible or about this Samuel's parentage, please, let's hear it. Bill's transcription indicates that Samuel and all his kids were born in Ohio. Unlikely, I think, given his birth date: April 23, 1767.
