Moses was a character, as I think those who followed him know. When he and his brothers first went to Florida, he plopped himself down beside the first spring he came to, in spite of warnings from others that he was right on a major Indian trail. So it was no big surprise when one of his sons and his son's children were killed by Indians. Moses also had a weakness for women, marrying several, apparently not necessarily sequentially, and having more than one mistress. Well, it got him in the end. A woman he'd taken a shine too who happened to be married killed him, with the aid of her husband, and I think they robbed him, too.
