Well, Nancy, I wish I could be of some help to you. I am having a very difficulttime finding information on my Barber line. I know that my gggrandmother's maiden name was Elizabeth Barber and that she was related to the war hero Taylor Barber. My grandfather believes that Taylor was in the Civil War and that Taylor was Elizabeth's uncle. The Barbers of ths area are an elusive bunch of people. I have been working on the family tree for nearly 8 years now and have very little information. If you know the name of the cemetary in St.Johns, it won't be very hard to find out about family members buried there. I have come to find that a lot of tiny Ohio cemetaries have kept betterrecords than some large, well-known city cemetaries (like Chicago or L.A.). I am about 35 minutes away from St.Johns, Ohio (I live in Cridersville, Ohio) but have yet to check out the cemetaries there and now I am not allowed to do much crawling around in graveyards because I am very pregnant (my husband is a worrywart). Have you checked the Auglaize ounty Historical Society to see if they have any information that might help you? It's worth a shot. Feel free to email me at: [email protected]
