Sarah M. Barber, born in GA
I'm trying to find info on a part of the family I know nothing about....my great grandmother was Mary Ann Gray, born in Colorado 1875.Her death certificate says her father was John Gray.In the Colo 1910 census, Fremont County, Mary Ann states her mother was born in Texas, her father in Missouri.Checking backwards, the only Mary Ann Gray I find in Colorado in 1880, was living in Fremont County with her mother Sarah M. Gray--this Sarah Gray was 33 years of age, born in Georgia. Also living with them was Belle N. Gray, listed as being Sarah's adopted daughter, who was born in Kansas. It's not clear on the census if Sarah was a widow or divorced, but there is no man living with them.In 1900 Colorado census, Fremont County, Sarah Gray is living there (born in Georgia), but this lists her age as being 44--but I believe this is the same woman. Now, living with her is George Barber, listed as being her son, born in Texas.I think this is the family I'm looking for, but I don't know any more about the Barbers or the Grays. I believe Sarah (unk maiden name) married a Barber and afterward, remarried a man named John Gray. I would appreciate any information anyone may have of a Barber from Texas who married a woman named Sarah, from Georgia, and they would have had a son named George.I believe George would have been born about 1864--but census records can be wrong on ages....any help would be greatly appreciated.
