Does anyone remember Klaus Barbie, the "Butcher from Lyon (France)", who was found in Boliva 30+ yrs ago, taken back to France, and sentenced to death for atrocities during WWII? Not a nice man. Point is: could he have been Alsation or some such? Could the Barbee origin be French? See my posting on "Barba". P. S. "Barba" = "bearded one".
