I have a copy of his will where he names all but 3 of these children. They probably preceded him in death. There is a historical marker for Brig. Gen. Elias Barbee on the courthouse square in Taylor Co., KY. He served in the KY House of Representatives 1809 -1812. He served in the Senate 1821-1823 and again in the House of Rep. 1825-1827. As Senator Barbee in 1822, he introduced a bill establishing the Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville, KY. The first state supported school for the deaf in the United States. He reached the rank of Brig. General on Dec. 18, 1799 in the Corn Stalk Militia of KY. Hope this lets you know a little more about Elias Barbee. I have more info on his children as to marriage and death dates if you are interesed. I also have his Revolutionary War records that are very interesting.
