Boy, this opens up a new world for me! I am descended from a david samuel laro in Erath
county, Texas, very near Hico. the 1899
census has a Sally Lang living with that
D.S.Laro family, and she was described as a
niece, I recall. I just found in Erath Co.
land records a connection between BARBEE,
PHILLIPS, LANG, then LARO in the land near
Dessau (small community there, apparently.)

I definitely need to follow up on this. Is
there anyone who'd like to exchange info on
this family in Erath Co (1880-190*?)

My grandmother's father Z.C. Johnston, is
buried in Dessau Cemetery, so some of the
family remained there in Erath county. My line moved to Sonora, then to San Antonio where we mostly remain today.
