I just replied to your posting regarding Nannie Barbee who married Adolphus Hopson. Went back and checked to see other postings from you and discovered this one. Martha Barbee who married Calvin J Green was the daughter of Christopher and Jeany "Jane" Shepherd Barbee. Interesting that you site Nannie Mae Herndon for your sources. I have both of her volumes of you mentioned. The Barbee book was done by others along with Nannie Mae. I as well as others have found mistakes in the Barbee book. I correspond, get together with 2 others who are working on Christopher and Jane's son, William A Barbee lines. Here's a kicker. In the other posting I mentioned my "Dolph" Hopson being the son of Thomas B and Caroline Green Hopson. Calvin J Green who married Martha was one of Caroline's brothers. I know descendants of Calvin and Martha's family. Matter of fact I'll see descendants of Capitol Edwards Fletcher tomorrow at church unless they are out of town. Paul was blind and so was his wife-they didn't have any children but were sweet people as I remember them when I was much younger. CC Edwards (Clarence) married Annie Ward and they had 1 son, Willie. My mom (now deceased) kept in contact with Willie as long as he lived. He passed away a year or two before she did. I remember alot of these. Matter of fact-I might even seen more of Capitola's family tomorrow even if their daughter, Frances's son and his family are out of town. Again-intrigued by this. Look forward to hearing from you.
