Martin Van Buren Barbee was a Pvt. in Co. B of 12 Regt. Georgia Infantry. He was a POW and exchanged and received at Boulware's Wharf in March of 1865. Military records indicate no later record of him has been found.
He was from Jasper Co., Ga. and his parents Sarah [?] Barbee and Joseph Barbee [d c 1850 in Jasper Co]. Siblings were William, Caroline [b. 1827], Joseph [b. 1829], Emily [pb. 1832] Frances, Isiah?, Lucinda. Does anyone have information about Martin or his parents? Thanks! Sharon
