Does anyone have an oral history on James A. Barbee, I have found his ancestry line. I noticed on the slave schedule that he owned a few mulatto males and I am trying to determine if one was my ancestor. Because he was born in TN, around 1830's sometime and in the 1870 census for IL he and his children were listed as Mulatto. Also His name was also James Barbee. This is all I know, any help would be great.
