I am inclined to agree with Jeffrey. Sarah (_____) Barbee may very well have been of the Mason family. The deed is circumstantial evidence. But it is good circumstantial evidence. Perhaps someday we will discover some corroboration. Others more able than I have tried, but hope remains.

I have taken the position that the connection to the Mason family is "unproven", but possible.
