Looking for any information on the William Barbee family in Crawford County, IL, especially Nancy Barbee Smith from Crawford County. Nancy and John B were married in 1838. We own the farm that was her dower. The old farm house that we are restoring is a gothic revival that appears to have been built by John and Nancy in 1854. Evidence of a blacksmith shop on the property may well be a shop built and operated by John Smith. Will gladly share all info I have on the family.
