ABIMELECH BARBEE, son of Christopher and Margaret Barbee, Sr., was born ca 1770/71 in NC and died 1848 in Jackson Co, AL. He married Hannah Whitaker (daughter of Abraham Whitaker of Orange Co, NC) on November 10, 1789, in Orange Co, NC. ABIMELECH and HANNAH BARBEE had moved to Oglethorpe Co, GA in time for 1800 census. Their near neighbors were Hannah (Whitaker) Barbee's Aunt Sarah (Whitaker) Rhodes who married Richard Rhodes.
In 1820, ABIMELECH and HANNAH BARBEE were enumerated on the Franklin Co, TN census. In November of 1820, Hannah Barbee joined the Mud Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Jackson Co, AL. In 1830, Abimelech and Hannah (Whitaker) Barbee were in Green Co, Illinois, but they were back in Jackson Co, AL by 1832.
Would like to compare notes on the children of ABIMELECH and HANNAH (WHITAKER) BARBEE.
