Lavina/Lovina Gandy Harrell's first husband supposedly 43 years older than her. I heard she was widowed 3-4 years before she married Joseph Jesse McDonald Barbee. I am not positive of their marriage date. They did have a son Ed Barbee born Feb. 1881 in Ga.
However I found a Joseph Jesse McDonald Barbee living alone in Erath Co. TX. Census 1880. I did not write down the page number or compiling date. Did he go there to find a home before they moved to Erath Co. Texas or shortly after marriage ?? Had he was born Jan 1855 making him 12 years younger than Lavina/Lovina Gandy Harrell. This census has he born in GA. and both parents born NC, Says occupation stoneman.
Then 1900 Census Erath Co. Texas . Compiled June 06, 1900. Children born to this mother 4, still living 4. He was a stone mason and son Eddie a day laborer. Owned their own home, morgage free, Married 21 years making marriage date 1879.
Head:Barbee Joe born Jan 1854 age 46 born Ga Both parents born NC.
Wife:Lavina born March 1845 age 55 born GA. Both parents born GA.
Son:Eddie born Feb. 1881 age 19 born GA.
1910 Erath Co. Texas Census page 50 compiled 11, April, 1910 has: occupation rock mason, Children born to this mother 4, still living 4
Barbee JJM age 51 Makes him born 1859. If last census correct he should be age 56.
Lavina age 62 Makes her born 1848. If last census correct should be age 65.
Then I found on Family Search the below. How could he be in Erath Co. TX and Bainbridge, Decatur Co. Ga at the same time? Unless he had gone ahead to Texas to find them a home and he filled out a census in Texas and Lavina/Lovina filled one out in GA. Note the last name is Barbra. I believe should be Barbee!

Ella Step Daughter b. 1870 GA age 10 (Must be my Mary E. "Mollie Harrell)
Cora Step daughter b. 1872 GA. age 8 ( Cora Lee Harrell)
Theodore H. Step son b. 1876 GA age 4 ( Theodore Honneywell Harrell)
Lizzie Herring Cousin b. 1864 GA. age 16 (? I don't know who this is)
Census Place, Bainbridge, Decatur Co. Georgia

Looking for information on who is parents were and who the parents were of Lizzie Herring and who she married?
Joseph died 1917 in Erath Co. Texas abt. age 62. Buried in New Dublin Cemetery, Dublin, Erath Co. Texas Vol 1 page 45.
Lavina lived to be age 92 having died 11, July 1935 in Hillsboro, Hill Co. Texas. Buried New Dublin Cemetery in Dublin, Erath Co. Texas
