Mary Hinton Barbee was the younger sister of N. B. Barbee, and both were the children of Dr. James Gray Barbee and his wife, Miranda Burrow Barbee. After the death of Dr. Barbee in 1853, his widow and children, except Mary (who may have been married by then) moved back to Crockett, Houston County, Texas, where my side of the family tree took root.
