I descend thru the some Barbees in Tenn.--Wm. H. Barbee (b1849)
Lewis Barbee (1823), Elzey Barbee born circa 1797 NC. At Odell
Barbee's funeral (b Jan 1925 dJan 2002) I spoke with a cousin who
has done genealogy and visited Tenn. and some of the places these
Barbees lived. Accd. to her (and Frank Ellison) our line goes thru
William Barbee b 1759 Culpepper Co. Va., Thomas Barbee 1725 Va.,
Thomas Barbee 1690 Va. and then Andrew Barbee.
I would love to see how they got their info or how they prove it.
None of these people seem to be from NC--yet Elzey Barbee says
he was born in NC. If anyone can help, I would love to hear from you.
By the way, Elzey Barbee md Polly Maples in Grainger Co. Tenn.
May 23, 1820. Elzey is on 1830,1840,1850, Jefferson Co. Tenn Cns.
He is on the 1860 Hamilton Co. Tenn. (Ooltewah) Cns.
On the 1840 Jeff. Co. Tenn. Cns. Elzey is 40-50. There is a John
Barbey (1 male 20-30) very near. Any help? Ronnie Barbee McLaughlin
