Edgar/Smith Family Tree Barbados

Hi everyone,

I'm searching for the Smith side of my family tree..here is the info that I have
My GGGrandfather Reuben Smith b. in West Indies Barbados in 1848,marries Theotiste Paulin in 1833..later that year, Reuben a seaman is washed aboard in Halifax Nova Scotia.
His parents are listed as Reuben Smith of Red Bank New Brunswick and Ann Edgar of Red Bank New Brunswick.
Thanks to the help of many others it was discoverd that Ann's family could possibly be in the 1841 Census Kirkudbrightshire Scotland :

James Edgar 40 Scotch
Margaret 40 Scotch
Isan 12 (Ann)? Native
Janet 9
Margaret 6
Jane 3

In the 1861 census it lists
Margaret Edgar 64 Widow Scotch
Janet Edgar Daur 30 Scotch
Margaret Edgar Duar 14 Native b. New Brunswick
Robert Smith 12 Grandson West Indian
Thomas Smith 10 Grandson West Indian

My father was told growing up that his grandfather Smith was from Ireland/Scotland

Just trying to tie them all together with Reuben.
Any help would be appreciated.
