JORDAN OF BARBADOS & NZ, 1653 TO 1860S
THIS MESSAGE IS REPRODUCED FROM THE JORDAN FAMILY FORUM
Hi Polly,
Just where is Mangapai in NZ, and how does your family tie in with Jordans?
I have a considerable amount of information on NZ descendants of Rev. John Jordan(1804-1874), Vicar of Enstone, Oxfordshire. Three of his sons, John, Gibbes Walker and Joseph William emigrated to NZ around 1860 and settled in Rangitiki and Wellington, founding a dynasty of NZ Jordans.
They are descended from Jordans of Barbados (Edward Jordan, 1653-1705, of Husbands [aka Jordans], St. James', Barbados).
Are these related to your family or to that of anyone else out there?
I also have some information on other NZ Jordans for disambiguation purposes.
