Chris,
My connection to Barbados is this. Henry Wilson moved his family from Barbados to Richmond County, Virginia around 1680/1682 and soon afterwards my ancestor, Edward Jeffries married Henry's daughter, Elizabeth Wilson in Richmond County. I don't have definite proof, but I believe Edward knew Elizabeth and her family before they moved to Virginia. I have seen very few books of Barbados records, but I have seen some showing there were Wilsons and Jeffries on the island before these showed up in Virginia. I have tried everything I know to try to find Edwards' parents but with no success. One of the best lead, out of three good possibilities, is that Judge George Jeffreys of England had a brother, Edward, who was a Captain of the king's losing forces during their Civil War in England. It is said most of the officers of the losing side were sent to the West Indies Islands, especially Barbados. I am now looking for straws in a haystack, but if any Jeffries show up in your search I would appreciate knowing about them. Thank you very much. Robert Jeffries.
