Seeking data for Sir William Myers, commander of His Majesty's forces in the Windward and Leeward Islands (January 24, 1804-July 29, 1805). There are plaques to his memory and to other Myers' family members within St. Michael's Church, Bridgetown. I am most interested in his nephew,Christopher Myers, a Lt.-Col., and Deputy Quarter Master General, who served both on Barbados and Jamaica during the period 1804-1812. Christopher's first wife, Mary M'Evers, died in Barbados on November 29, 1804. Christopher's brother Captain James Myers died on December 16, 1804 and is buried in St. Michael's church yard. Fourteen of eighteen members of the Myers' family, died during the service of the men of the family in the Caribbean. Was it yellow fever? Does anyone have access to monumental inscriptions, both from inside St. Michael's, and of those in its cemetery? Seeking Myers' births, christenings, marriages and burial records.
