My 3xgrandfather was William Toomer, born 1803 Wiltshire, England. Joined 76th Regiment of Foot in Wilts. Posted to Canada, married Rosa Doneahay 1827 Montreal, Quebec. Posted Ireland where their daughter Mary was probably born. Posted Barbados and William died there 1837. His widow mentioned as being with the regiment. What happened to Rosa/Rosanna? Daughter Mary next shows up as marrying James Barnett in Liverpool, England in 1851. Mary, my 2xgrandmother, next in Sydney, Australia 1856 and eventually marries William Maher in 1877. Would love to know if Mary had siblings and what happened to her mother. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Also any info on William Toomer. Believe his parents were James and Prudence Toomer nee Goodfellow.
