Colin,
James Banwell was my first cousin four times removed. He was born in 1791 in Kewstoke. His father was Joseph Banwell (1757-1811) and his mother was Elizabeth Knapper (1761-1808). They were married on 6 Feb 1809 in Bedminster, Bristol. James was a shoemaker. They had six children: Henry b.c. 1810 who married Ann Brown; John b.c. 1813; Joseph b. 25 Feb 1814; Ann Maria b. 17 Mar 1816; Hannah b. 14 Nov 1819; and Betsy b. 19 Jun 1825.
I have names and dates about four generations back from Joseph.
