I saw your querry and was wondering if you knew where John Banta was born. I descend from John Banta (b. Sept. 1756 in NJ and d. 1816 in KY) and Mary (Polly) Riker (b. Jan. 29, 1760 in NJ and d. March 7, 1838 in KY). The family, with sons/daughters/children, moved to KY. Some of them became Shakers. Others moved to IN with their children. I'll look at what I have and see if I can find anything to help you. Anne
