As a descendant of the Epke Jacobse Banta line, I would like to suggest you go to familysearch.com and do a surname search in their Family History Library Catalog. (They have the largest genealogy archives in the world.) I found many genealogy books on the Bantas--one of particular interest is "A Frisian Family--The Banta Genealogy" by Theodore M. Banta, 1893. (FHL film #1305382, Item 4) It has 350 pages of over 8,000 Banta names and dates--descendants of Epke Jacobse Banta. Over 4,000 of those names are my direct line. For histories, etc. try "Banta Pioneers and Records of the Wives and Allied Families" prepared by Elsa M. Banta, 1983 (Also see supplement). There is much more, all available either in book form, microfilm or fiche. They can be ordered and viewed/copied at any LDS Family History Center near you. Check the site for locations.
