Archival boxes are available to store old books. They are acid free. It is important that the book be stored in an area that has low humidity and that is not too hot or cold. Do not laminate anything you want to keep. Copying material is a good idea, but realize the more fragile pages are handled, the more they are damaged. Try scanning a copy and then make all further copies from scanned material. Good luck.
Why am I reading Banta page? My great-grandmother was Elizabeth Perlina Banta, a daughter of Isaac Banta and Eliza Barker who was born in Red River County,Texas, in 1846.
