I am seeking information regarding my grandfather's grandfather James Banta. I know that he married Jennie Melovia Brock (b. 1855 New London KY) near Wyandotte Co KS in 1877. They had a son Theodore (TJ) Banta in 1879, and a daughter in 1881.... legend has it that James Banta died being struck by lightening while getting the doc to tend to the birth of his daughter in 1881 near Alma KS. Any help would be much appreciated.
