Surname: Banta, Lowe, Lawe
Need info on this couple. Charles Delevan Banta was born Aug. 26, 1841, prob. in Metamora, Ill. He married Ellen Angeletta Low/Lowe/Lawe in 1873. They moved to Labette Co., Ks. Had 9 children:
1. Martha Ann Banta m. --- Boulware
2. Nellie Salina m. Wm. S. Jones
3. Ida Mae m. Wm. Blackburn
4. George Cornelius - never married
5. James William m. Ida Miller
6. Callie m. --- McDaniels
7. John Henry m. Fern Blackburn
8. Margaret Myrtle
9. Andrew Jackson
I have a minor correction to make to your information on Charles Banta. His Middle name was DeHaven (not Delaven, as has been widely circulated) and he was born in Metamora , Il, not Harrodsburg KY.
Elizabeth's parents were George Stine and Catherine Dehaven. BTW Elizabeth was probably born at Kingston, Ross County Ohio (not Harrodsburg, KY) as George Stine and Catherine DeHaven never went to KY and Elizabeth's Brother John (my ancestor) was born in Ross county, Ohio Jan 14, 1814.
