Your post re Book "27 Years On The Texas Frontier" by William Banta...
Is it possible this is William Banta born Ind ca 1830 that came to Texas, and had a son William Milton Banta born 1857 that married Emma Jane Smith dau of Sabret and Nancy A Everitt Smith. Once lived in Hamilton CO TX..
If so, then I too am interested in that, and wish to say also that Emma Jane Smith, dau of Sabret Smith is my relative, and I have a book "Ezekiel's Children and (E)Manuel Jackson Smith and related Families" that has the history of these Smiths back to Dunmores War in 1774 and Capt. Ezekiel Smith in Militia and book is available.
Note.. Sabret Smith was 1 of 4 with this name.
