MARY DINNEEN BANTA, Mrs.

(Her middle name was also spelled as DENNEEN / DINEEN)
Age 75, in the 76th year of his age, widow of HENRY FREDERICK BANTA, daughter of the
late DANIEL J. DINNEEN and MARY ELLEN LUCEY DINNEEN, a native of Ireland and a
resident of Virginia Beach for 10 years, died Thursday, February 19, 1953 at a Virginia Beach
hospital at 2:20 pm. She was a member of the Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Virginia Beach.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. RICHARD MCGRATH of Virginia Beach and Miss DOLORES
BANTA of Paris, France; 2 sons, FREDERICK W. BANTA of Fort Lauderdale, Fla and
DONALD BANTA of Washington; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The body will be
taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to the Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Virginia
Beach for funeral services Monday, February 23, 1953 at 10 am by the Rev NICHOLAS
HABETS, pastor. Rosary services will be conducted at the church Sunday, February 22, 1953 at
10:45 am. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. In her 76th year of her age.
Pallbearers were HUGH MCGRATH, COL. ROBERT GUHL, JAMES A. MOORE and FRANK
LATHROP.
