Looking for any information on family of Peter Banta b 15 May 1816 in Kentucky. He md. Nancy Umphreys 8 Feb 1841 and had 3 children Martah J, Biram (Birome), and Mary. He married again 21 Aug 1855 Nancy Whitsett (widow Lipsey) and had 6 children, Peter Albert, Elizabeth, Lavina, Ellen, Emaline, Bledona. Did not know much beginning in 2006 but have opened several doors. To summarize
Peter Banta (Banty) lived in KY, IN, IL, MN, WI, OR, WA? He served in the Civil war in the Minn 1st Cav Rgmt. as a Blacksmith. May have also lived in IA where his dau. Elizabeth md Louis A. Banta from another Banta Branch of the family tree.
