This sounds like it might be related to Pleasant Hill, KY. Joan Englund Murray has put out a nice book: The Bantas of Pleasant Hill, KY, their ancestors and descendants. Available from her at 128 N. Linden Ave, Palatine, IL 60067. Lots on the Shakers and the Bantas related to them...
