I also visited and have photographed the Hendrick Banta cabin and the cemeteries several years ago. At the time I was fortunate enough to see the cabin on the inside but was very disappointed that the owner was dismantling the rear structure to try to find treasure aleged to be hidden in the logs. Is the cabin still mostly intact?

I belong to the cemetery board and correspond with Mr. Arthur Weaner, who is a local member of the Adams County Historical Society and quite a good source for local history. Have you contacted him? If not, he lives in the only home on Weaner Road just outside (northeast) of Gettysburg.
