Laura Bannon died in Roswell, NM in 1963.My Grandmother, Dorothy Bannon (Sivells)was Laura's youngest sister and a registered nurse who took care of her when she was ill. They are both buried in Roswell, NM.Another sister of Laura was Katherine (Kate) who lived in Traverse City.I remember visiting her when I was about 4 years old, swimming in the bay at a cottage (this is vague, though).I called her Aunt Cake.My Grandmother would tell me that Laura was very embarrassed about having so many sisters and brothers and was embarrassed especially of my Grandmother, the youngest.Anyway, It was not Laura who knitted the red mittens to go with the story, it was actually my Great Grandmother Cari. She is my sister's namesake, Cari.I remember vaguely a story about Grandma Cari getting lost in the woods in the cold and I am assuming it was on that Five Mile Road, told by my Grandmother (Dorothy). Also, I remember my Grandmother saying something about having to walk to school and the cow would follow them.....and yes, through this db Kat did find out how she was related to Laura...Kat is my sister. If anyone has stories to tell, please contact me.
