I came across you forum about Benjamin Andrew Banning. I don't know much about him. He was born about 1820 in North Carolina. He moved with his parents, Frazier Banning and Elizabeth Allison to Illinois. Benjamin married Caroline Matilda Cordin Jan 13, 1837 in Shelby Co., Illinois. Caroline died Nov 8, 1842 and is buried in Neal Cemetery, Dry Point twp, Shelby County, Illinois. Therefore, she could not be the mother of your Elizabeth Banning if she was born in 1858.
I don't know what became of Benjamin. He may have moved to Missouri and got remarried, then had a child Elizabeth.
