Looking for living descendents of the Bannings of Hartford, CT. My g-g-grandfather was Rufus Carroll Banning. Rufus was born 1855 to William P. and Cornelia (Wood) Banning. His brother was William A. Banning, b. 23 October 1852 d. 8 March 1911 (Hartford, CT).
I am looking for descendents of William A. Banning. He was married to Hattie Gleason. He had 3 sons, George G (who died in Windsor), Charles N and William A (Jr).
William A. Jr (b. abt 1877) married Nellie McAuliffe and had a son Edward, formerly of Wethersfield, CT. I have a copy of their 50th wedding notice in the Hartford Times.
Charles N Banning (b. abt 1883) married a woman named Lillian and had at least one daughter, Alice, born about 1919.
I believe George G (b. abt 1879) died without any children.
I am looking for information about Rufus and William's mother, Cornelia (Wood) Banning. Only one of Rufus' children (my g-grandmother) married and had children, so we don't have anywhere else to look along his branch. Hoping that William's descendents will have the info we seek.
Also, we've never figured out the connection of the Carrolls to this family...so if anyone has any information about that, please let me know. We know that my great-grandmother spent time with a Carroll family in Hartford.
