John Horton Baning was born 15 July 1868 in Madison County, Alabama to Elizabeth Eason Baning . We think S.C. Baning died, or was divorced from Elizabeth, as she married again when John H. Baning was a small boy. John H. Baning appeared in Searcy County, Arkansas, where he married Mary Elizabeth Harrison b. 30 Aug 1872, on 4 Nov 1888.

John H. Baning died 14 Oct. 1941 Heavener or Muse, Leflore County, Oklahoma

Mary Elizabeth died 26 Oct. 1933 same place as John. They are buried Rocky Cemetery, Leflore County, Oklahoma.

The family believes the name has always been spelled as Baning, but there are so many variations of spelling, that sound the same.
