Donald, I am a great granddaughter of Elizabeth Banning, sister of Alex Banning that you call Senior. Elizabeth was born 26 June,1837, Shelby County, Illinois. She married Griffin Tipsword and in the 1860 census, Effingham County, Il. Alexander was living with Griffin and Elizabeth. I never knew what had happened to Alex. Parents of the two, and at least, Joseph and Henry, also, were Machac Banning and Minerva Waller.Machac died 8 July 1851, Fayette Co., Il. Machac was son of Alexander Banning and Lusinda ------. both brd. in Neal Cemetery, Cowden, Il. Hope this helps. Gayle Tipsword Norris
