Dear Gene,
That Mrs. N.A. Bishop may be the Mrs. Nancy Banning who married Michael Bishop in 1882 in Polk Co., MO---but I wonder now who Mrs. Nancy Banning's first husband was? Is this Martha Banning (daughter of Mrs. N. A. Bishop) supposed to be the daughter of Lorenzo Banning? Do you know the date of that marriage? Have you heard of any divorces in this Banning family? I still think that the Sarah J. Banning (b-1867) may be the gal I am looking for with "Belle", which she went by in later years being only a nickname and not her given name. I need to find Frazier Banning in 1880 to help in my search. The children for J. [Jacob] C. and Delila D. Banning in the 1880 Izard Co., Arkansad census are: J. W. (son age 13/b-MO), Malissa (daughter age 9/b-MO), Benj M. (son age 8/b-MO), Mal???? (daughter age 5/b-Ark), Willis (son age 4/b-Ark), M. E. (daughter age 2/b-Ark). It could be that the Martha you mentioned is the child of Jacob & Delila Banning listed above. It is evident that the mother has remarried to a Mr. Bishop.
