Eileen,
Thanks for your Bannerman posting; it was good to hear from you.
I searched the Rhynie & Essie (R&E) Parochial Register (PR) again before responding to you, hence the delay.
1. I'm pleased to find that we are evidently researching the same family! If you consider the children of William Bannerman and Elizabeth Watt, Alex Clark descends from their son John Bannerman born 1802 in Oyne, and I descend from their son William Bannerman born 1807 in Oyne.
2. I agree that the father William Bannerman was born 1779 in Aberdeen to John Bannerman and Elizabeth Linton.
3. I have spent a great deal of time searching for the origin of that John Bannerman of Aberdeen. My conclusion differs from yours.
4. To discuss that John Bannerman's origins in detail requires much more space than can be used on a posting such as this. Therefore, I'm going to take the liberty of sending you an e-mail (hopefully later today) at [email protected] that will lead you to my full analysis, available at rootsweb.com.Then we can discuss the question from that starting point.
Thanks again for your posting.I look forward to e-mail discussions with you on this question.
