RE: Peter BANNER b. abt. 1720-1730 England or Calvert Co. MD: I am now fairly sure the early Joseph BANDER in the estate of George Hooper (Calvert Co. MD, 1684) connects to my Peter BANNER, b. ca. 1730, who was married in 1754 to Elizabeth WOOD in St. Mary's Co. MD * Peter Banner d. 1799-1800 in Barnwell/Orangeburg SC. Calvert Co. MD is a burned courthouse county so there are few records other than Bible, Tombstone, Archives, Church, etc. I found this- I think it was from Prerog. Ct. Abstracts(MD): Geo. HOOPER 8.220 A #6570 (no date but other records in front & behind are 1684 & he lived in Calvert Co. MD) Pmts: Hon. P. CALVERT; Jas. PHIILIPS, Ebinezer BLACKSTONE paid to Mark THOMAS HARRIS (runaway), John STANSBY (Stansbury?) no assets; John DRUUAM (Durham?), Col Geo.. WELLS, Mr. GIBSON. Then, Peter BANNER was ALSO a witness in Calvert Co. MD (ca. 1762) for the will of David HELLEN. (MD Cal. Wills) Hellen, David; s/o John, Calvert Co 10-6-1764; Wife was "Jane", Children: Benjamin and Basil, 8-2-1768, Exrs-Wife Jane and brother Jesse Hellen. WITNESS: Peter BANNER, John Mackall, ST. Leonards, Jane BINYON TRUSTEES FOR CHILDREN: Jon MACKALL, Daniel RAWLINGS, Jr. , John HUNGERFORD, **PROBATED IN SMC!!! Widow resigned adm. of will to son Jesse Peter BANNER served in the French & Indian War out of Norfolk, VA and in the Rev. out of VA. He got land grants in 1784 in Barnwell/Orangeburg SC whre he d. 1799-1800. On his enlistment in the French and Indian War he says he was "English" and a Schoolmaster.
