John Sr. enlisted in the Revolutionary Army in the Salisbury District of North Carolina. He also drew pay in that district.Thus we are reasonably sure that he lived in or near that part of the state. Near Old Salem and Germanton. Research indicates every Banner in that area were descendants of Henry Banner who came to America in 1740.
