RACHEL BANKSON was probably born in NC, but family tradition says that Rachel Bankson Wakefield and her husband were both born on the same ship in 1760 when their parents emigrated from Ireland.

RACHEL BANKSON's mother (bc1740 Ireland ?)was thought to be named O'Dear (Adair).

Rachel Bankson married Mr. WAKEFIELD, probably in Georgia where their daughter was born. The Wakefields then journeyed to Illinois and were pioneer settlers of Shelby Co.
They had child :
ANNA WAKEFIELD, b. ca 1787

Rachel Bankson Wakefield died in Shelby Co., IL about 1842.
