Hello Glenn,
You have gotten references to different Elizabeth Bankson's mixed up.An easy thing to do.
Andrew Bankston (b. 1787)received a bounty land grant and moved to Iowa about 1836 and thereby founded Bankston Prairie, Dubuque County, Iowa.Andrew Bankson was married to Elizabeth Moore.Andrew and Elizabeth (Moore) Bankson had 10 children; among them was another Elizabeth Bankson (born abt. 1825/1827.)
Andrew and Elizabeth (Moore) Bankson also had two sons who married different Elizabeths.
James Bankson (born 1810) married Elizabeth Clouse (b. abt. 1809).James Bankson died and his widow married Willis Thompson, a neighbor in Dubuque County, Iowa. This was probably a second marriage for Willis Thompson as well as for Elizabeth (Clouse) Bankson.
William M. Bankson (born 1812), another son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Moore) Bankson, married Elizabeth Justice. They had a son named Permenius Bankson.Elizabeth Justice died and William M. Bankson married Margaret Ann Smith.William and Margaret Bankson had four children.Among these children was another Elizabeth Bankson and a son James Madison Bankson.
Hope this helps to straighten out some of these Elizabeth Banksons.
