Jeannett, I am of the opinion, but certainly could be wrong, that the John Banister who was in the War of 1812 is the same one who is residing in Nicholas County KY in 1820.Kentucky Soldiers in the War of 1812 lists John BANNISTERPrivate inCapt. Coleman A. Collier's Company, Scott's Regiment, Kentucky Militia
Served from August 15 to October 15 of 1812.
In the same unit was James Kincart.I beleive that this John Banister married Elizabeth Kinkead (sic Kinkart??)
1820 index of Nicholas Co. KY lists
11038BanisterCollinpg00104
11434BanisterJohnpg00111
11037BanisterJohn Jr.pg00104
I would like to discuss your thoughts regarding Banisters in Hamilton County, if you would care to email me. Perhaps you can tell me more about Mary Ann Banister that you seek.
