Hi Ian & Cheryl,

As you both seem interested in the Elias BANFIELD of Uny Lelant I thought I might raise a query with you both.

Looking at "The Harold John Banfield" tree on "Family Tree Maker - genealogy.com" it states that Elias BANFIELD was the son of Francis BANFIELD of Scilly. I have been searching for years for the proven link of this statement. Francis BANFIELD of Scilly did have a son Eli BANFIELD born 1736 in Scilly, but I have no further information on him after that date. Does the source of the above mentioned tree/site have proof that Eli (Scilly) was the Elias BANFIELD of Uny Lelant at marriage ?

Your help in this would be appreciated. Cetainly it would greatly enlarge both our trees if it is proven.
