Jo- There could be a connection to the family, but not to my Elizabeth Banfield. She was born to George W. Banfield and a Native American woman. Elizabeth's mother allegedly tried to smother the baby & it was put in an orphanage. George remarried Cordelia Eddy and she adopted the baby and raised her. George W. Banfield was born in KY 1853. His parents were ? and Martha Banfield. George had at least 1 brother named Henry. By 1910, George W. was in Dover Twsp., Athens County, OH. As Cordelia Eddy was family but not direct I did not persue this any farther. A direct decendant of George Banfield living in OK City, OK contacted me (name I can't find) and I sent the picture to her. She may have what you're looking for.
