Bandy, Drinkard of Botetourt, VA. 1794

Trying to determine how Drinkard Bandy (1794-1884) got his first name. His father George named his children, Elizabeth, Thomas C, George Bannister, Reuben, William Meador, Nancy, John "Wesley", Drinkard Grant, Ambrose, Rhoda, Richard S and Mahala. He was born in Botetourt Virginia, married in Bedford Virginia, lived in Cumberland Kentucky and Breckinridge Kentucky and was buried in Garfield, Beckinridge, Kentucky. I found an article that indicates in 1800 a number of families came from Virginia to Kentucky and located in the east end of Bourbon county and the sould part of Nicholas county. I find Drinkard to be a last name but there were none found in my family line. Does anyone have any information on this line. Drinkard married Elizabeth "Betsey" Brown and I am a decendant of Francier "Frazier" Bandy one of 4 children of Drinkard and Betsey Bandy. My email is SCSitlington@att.net. Thanks, Debbie
