Hello;
You say your Bancroft family was from Granville, MA. So was Stephen Bancroft Sr and his children were all born in Granville, as far as I know. They were. Jesse, Obedion, Thomas, Stephen Elihu, Oliver, Sally, Benevolance, Jemima and Roxena,My ancestor was Stephen Bancroft Jr. He married Mary Bronson. Oliver and Sally both married Davis's on 25 Feb. 1804, Manlius, Onondaga Co. NY. They were married by Rev. Hugh Wallace. This family went on to Summerhill Cayuga Co. by 1820 and by 1830 were most all in Walworth, Wayne Co. NY. Some later went on to villenova, Chautauqua Co. NY. and on to Michigan by 1860. Could you be a part of this group?
I would love to hear from you. I have Stephen Bancroft Jr's Rev. Papers from DAR. No Foster listed but I think you are descended from his sister.
